A Party with a Chinese Theme To Boot

What girl doesn't love a party? Especially when it's for her. Hula Seventy threw a splendid party, and went all out with a Chinese theme, for her eight-year-old's birthday. The pictures are lovely. Wouldn't this be a fun shindig to throw for our girls one day. A pretty party to celebrate their rich Chinese culture. I quite like it. Love it actually.

My Rant

Yikes! The FDA really scares me sometimes. Take this article for example. And people wonder why some parents are ditching their plastics for stainless steel. And additionally, why some parents are freaked out about the MMR vaccine and possible, or not, links to autism. The FDA just has way too many drug recalls and research that is questionably funded to make me feel completely comfortable about holding onto their every word. Bottom line: Mamas, go with your gut whether the FDA approves it or not!

Our Pursuit of Passions

I'm reading Three Cups of Tea and it has me pondering what are my life's passions, causes, and purposes. Some of these purposes I already know - they've been with me for a very long time - and there are still some that I will learn as I go. Could we become so passionate about a cause that we glow in the dark (see the Sept. 4th post)? What a wonderful thought.

Three Adoptees Return to China to Volunteer at an Orphanage

I think that I'll always be a daughter of two countries, two mothers, two cultures... Without both I would feel incomplete. - Jena Cook, age 16

This is a wonderful slideshow about three teenagers that returned to China to volunteer at an orphanage. I love hearing their perspectives as adoptees.
