I love these lists too, because I am opinionated about this topic! That list is pretty good- being a teacher and children's book lover, I agree with many of them. I was REALLY glad to see though that it wasn't driven completely by sentiment. Some newer books crept onto the list- YAY for "NO! David" (a picture book all parents must have and for "Frindle" and "The Giver" chapter books that are excellent in every sense of the word!

I was disappointed to see that "Number the Stars" didn't make the list, and did I miss any of the "How Does a Dinosaur...." books by Jane Yolen?

Unfortunately, because these are all teachers, they are focusing on books for school-aged children. So, the list misses so many excellent books for the 5 and under set!! I haven't posted much about children's books on my blog yet, but since I am ALMOST LID, I was planning to start to start. With two kids under the age of 5, I could make a list of the 100 best books for the under 5 set since we collect books around here and my kids have been read to since day1!!

So, you've inspired me to to start early with the books posts and i'll link to your blog as my inspiration. I just love that you include book recommendations on your blog. I, for one, appreciate it! Thanks for posting the list!
