Changes
I'm not sure what the future holds for us in terms of adopting again, which is very disheartening. Vietnam is closing their program; Guatemala has its problems; and the wait in China continues to grow beyond a reasonable expectation. I just pray that all of this change ultimately results in the absolute good of the children who are currently living in orphanages and are left waiting for families.

This is probably not new news to you: some of us did look at domestic adoption, and now over the past three years we have seen so many beautiful babies be adopted out of the children's home where we volunteer. The program wasn't available to us back when we began our adoption journey and we did feel our hearts go out to the abandoned daughters in China. Maybe you have some children's homes near you?

Hello. My name is Mel Askins. My little girl's name is Jadyn Bo-Xuan Askins. And yes she is from the same orphanage as your daughter. There were 4 families in our travel group. Two from Arkansas and two from Texas. We got our daughters on 10/28/07. We did not get to go to the orphanage. I would love to get some of your pictures of the orphanage. My email is melaskins@yahoo.com
I know and feel what you are saying. Too bad for them and for us. Our daughters are the sweetest girls in the world!!!!!
