Is this mainly happening with boys? I want to adopt a little girl, but I don't want to be a contributor to this growing problem? ...Would I be or isn't this an entirely different problem than the one little girls face in China?

... Please disregard my former anonymous (and dumb!) comment as I just finished the documentary. This is a very complex situation due largely if not entirely to the one child policy. Young women are also being affected too as they are being bought and sold as wives due to a shortage of eligible wives in China. ..So much too ponder. The one child policy, little girls still being abandoned, little boys being snatched and sold, parents losing children, .... population control measures with unforeseen & painful circumstances for many generations.

John & I watched the documentary last evening on HBO and we couldn't believe what we were seeing...what a horrible situation the Chinese government has created; those poor parents who had their children stolen, and the poor parents who had to sell their own children. All I can say is "the Chinese government should be ashamed of itself"!!!!

Watched it - Ben and I cried through most of it. I am glad you recommended it and can say that I felt very ignorant as I was watching to this situation.
